Drawbar force is often the first thing to weaken or fail on your CNC Machining Center!
A stack of 100 to 150 Belleville springs provide the force that pulls the toolholder into the spindle taper.
The slightest wear on each spring, or wear on the drawbar where the springs slide, can result in drawbar force loss, which can permit chatter, bad finish, reduced cutter life, and scrapped parts.
Belleville springs can and do fatigue and break, resulting in extreme loss of drawbar force.
Programmers spend time at compensating for this, unaware that one spring after another is failing.
The toolholder can eventually pull out during a cut, causing damage to the spindle taper, bearings, toolholder, cutter, and fixture.
A routine check with a spindle drawbar force gage would reveal drawbar force loss, so corrective action could be initiated.
By placing the Clamprite Drawbar Force Gage in the spindle taper, it takes less than one minute to check the drawbar force against the manufacturer's recommended level. HSK spindles must have at least 75% of original drawbar force to fully seat the arbors. HSK spindles must be tested frequently.

Spindle Drawbar Force Gage

Clamprite Gage Kits provide an easy, accurate and economical method of checking drawbar force. Kits are furnished in a foam fitted metal tool box and include the gage head, a spindle adapter, and an internal transfer screw coupling that accepts all pull studs. Use your pull stud or purchase pull studs separately.
The universal gage head adapts to sizes and types of spindles including CAT, BT, ISO, HSK, Capto C6 and others. Select your kit by spindle(s) type and maximum drawbar force you will be testing. Order additional adapters from the list below.
